Family Open Day 25 April

Well, the weather held off, giving us chance to have a great afternoon of tennis and fun.

Well done to the Juniors. Both of the sessions went really well,  everybody learned some new skills, and went away with a medal as a memento of the afternoon.

It was interesting talking quite a few adults who are looking to play.  Like myself, most of you had enjoyed playing while on holiday and would like to start playing at home. You are welcome to come to our Sunday Social

Of course, thanks to Steve for running the Sessions so well and for those helping with the courts and refreshments.

End of Season Roundup

Well, the end of another season but its not the end of the tennis year…

Winter Tennis
The courts being serviced over the next few weeks to make things nice and safe underfoot. Sunday morning sessions continue to be popular and will run right through to next season.

Our Tuesday A team were our star performers this year, winning the Leigh league Div 2 League and Cup.

The Wednesday A team could still pull off the first ever div 1 win in the clubs history! Their drawn Cup Final will be replayed next season

Monday A team were runners up on set difference in their league losing out by just 1 set.

Juniors were runners-up. A shame after beating the team above them – twice.

Finally, our club tournament, the Trevor Royle Trophy was won by Ian Hodgkinson. Well done Ian.

A superb effort across the club to put these very popular sessions on. Steve Mannion lead the sessions with Ian, Adam, Helen, Lewis, Laura, Steve and Tracey.

Other stuff…
Just to mention the work done by Steve Wilkinson in maintaining the courts, Judith for the socials and Mike Carey for artwork, not forgetting the rest of the committee for all of their hard work.

See you on Sunday mornings
