Thursday Roe Green Coaching sessions 2021

Every summer the club runs a very popular coaching programme on Thursday evenings from April until July. Lessons are
organised by LTA qualified instructors Steve Mannion and Martin Kast. Due to the ongoing COVID-pandemic, the 2021 coaching sessions will have to be offered in a slightly different way.

Please read this information carefully!

To provide a COVID-safe coaching environment, we will have to limit participant numbers, ensure safe changeover periods between lessons, and reduce the amount of shared equipment during lessons. This requires a few changes compared to the previous years

coaching session:

  • Places will have to pre-booked and we will not accept any participants turning up & wanting to play on the day.
  • We will offer two 6-week blocks of classes
    running from 22/4 – 27/5/2021 (Block 1) and 10/6-15/7/2021 (Block 2), with a break for the June half-term holiday.

17:30 – 18:15 Mini Red Tennis for children aged 5 – 8 (school years 1-3)

18:30 – 19:15 Mini Orange/Green for children aged 9 – 11 (school years 3-6)

19:30 – 20:30 Beginners/Intermediates aged 12+ and separate adult group

  • Due to the capped participant numbers and additional COVID-precautions, we have had to increase our prices. Blocks will be £18.00 for club members and £30.00 for non-members. For any sessions cancelled by the club due to inclement weather or COVID, you will receive a full session refund.
  • We are highly recommending children bring their own racquets to minimise sharing equipment. We will provide a limited number of racquets that will be cleaned in-between sessions but would prefer players using their own.
  • Parents will be allowed to stay for the Mini Red Session and the middle court will be made available as additional area to watch/wait.
For the Orange/Green and the later Beginners/Intermediate sessions, we are asking parents to please leave the club area as space is limited and socially distanced waiting will be difficult.
  • There are hand-sanitizing stations at both court entrances, and we expect these to be used by everyone entering and leaving the courts.
  • By signing your child up for the coaching sessions, you acknowledge and agree to the above guidelines.

Please fill out the attached registration form for each
child and return the completed form to

Once we have received the completed form, we will reserve a place for your child, forward you the payment details, and keep the reservation
for 48 hours. Should we have not received payment within those 48 hours and other children are on the waiting list, we will be offering this place to someone else.

When all places have been filled, your child will be added to a waiting list and we will let you know should places become available.

Thank you so much for your understanding and continued

  • Coaches are required to hold professional insurance (either through LTA accreditation or privately) and must provide details of such together with a COVID19 risk assessment and contact details for all participants of each session to be fully compliant with track and trace requirements via an email to

  • No more than 2 courts can be booked for coaching sessions at any one time and no consecutive coaching sessions are permitted to ensure court availability for other members.

If in doubt, please reach out to the committee to discuss your coaching plans!

The committee will review coaching activity, specifically its impact on court availability for other members and excessive court use by coaches.
